Kristin Lindell is an engaging vocalist and musician, trained at York University with over 15 years of performance experience. She has performed at Vancouver’s Feast of Fields, In the House Festival and Art in the Garden Tour. In Toronto, her live shows were featured at Celebrate Toronto Street Fest, Harbourfront’s World Fare and Rhythms of the World Festivals.
With an earthy blend of jazz, folk and world beat, she creates a magical tapestry of song. Soaring high or diving deep into the blues, her voice conveys both raw truth and a playful essence. Her repertoire ranges from jazz to swing, bossa to blues, inspired by music from both Latin America and Africa.
Kristin’s original CD, Siren, features roots/jazz music with images of moonlit, phosphorescent water, her mermaid muse or a spicy cinnamon massage.
“Her intensely visual lyrics, coupled with a melodic jazz style create a unique voice to her music—haunting, magic and caressed by a love of the world around her.”
Also heard in Kristin's music is the theme of nature: “Kristin delights in the wonders of nature, fleeting moments and the imprints they leave.”
Her voice is clear, soulful and warm as she invites her audience to taste, feel and see the music. Audiences love the songs Kristin brings alive such as "Agua di Beber", the beautiful bossa tune, jazz standards such as "You Don't Know What Love is" and her spicy original song "Cinnamon".
